Box of old S-K

Stopped at a pawn shop today, found some Snap-On torx sockets and various USA mfg. wrenches/sockets for $40.

What got me was the bin full of old S-K sockets/wrenches. I debated buying the whole box but they had a bit of rust so I decided against it. Would it be wise to dish out the cash for 60 random S-K sockets and wrenches? Is it worth all the hassle of cleaning them up?

Picked up a few, couldnt let them all stay there.

When I first started, I would buy anything that wasn't 'junk' I soon realized how much time I was spending cleaning rust off of a .50 cent socket, and decided that it wasn't worth it for me to clean up somebody else's neglected tools.

Now I try to buy nicer stuff, and save the restoration for bigger projects.

I would avoid buying a lot of sockets and wrenches with a lot of random sizes. Chances are, you'll end up with your own junk pile. That being said, it depends on how badly you want them. If it really dirt cheap, maybe.

i just unloaded my box of extra SK stuff. Ive slowed sown buying odd sockets just because they are a good deal, you end up with way too many of the same sizes

I agree with you guys, I probably would have paid $60 for the box, that could just go towards a new set in the future. Already have enough rusty duplicates rolling around.
