Boxes for ceiling surface mounted LED lighting

I have a garage at the framing stage getting ready to run wiring and have a question about lighting. I will be using 8ft LED surface mount lighting on the ceiling and wondering what best practice is for prepping the wiring. Should I mount standard outlet boxes to the rafters or just loop down a few feet of wire? The surface mount lights I'm looking at are narrow and would barely cover an outlet box width. I'm not asking about code here, I'm asking for the convenience of keeping the wiring available after drywall is completed.

Where will the wire nutted wires end up?

Some ceiling fixtures have a connection box built in... others assume it will be mounted to or near a connection box.

Some ceiling fixtures have a connection box built in... others assume it will be mounted to or near a connection box.

The 2 fixtures I am considering both provide for wiring termination inside the fixture housing.
