So the latest kid on the block this year at SEMA that I know about was a company named Boxo. There seemed to offer a pretty decent product for what they described as retail pricing. The boxes were nicely made and all the deeper drawers came with doubled slides. The tools seemed to be a decent selection of Taiwan rebranded offerings. And the fitted foam insert trays were nicely organized and displayed well.

Pricing on the boxes were ~$3k on down and you had a crazy selection of whatever colors they offered for the box, the drawers and the trim with your standard lead time of 4-8 weeks. After playing around with their stuff for about a half hour and BSn with their guy who happens to live ten minutes from me I think that if I were in the market to start out fresh I'd probably give these guys a shot.

I like the look of that Epiq lookalike.

Their foam layouts, and really their plier handles, remind me of Sonic tools. Do they strike anyone else as similar?

Yes, I think it's that generic Taiwan made stuff. Could be Rotar, Kabo, Infar, High Five, who knows. Stand an OEM Tools metric socket next to a Sonic Tools metric socket and everything looks the same aside from the name & price. :dunno:

I think BOXO may be an Australian based company. SP Tools (Not Schley Tools) was also at SEMA trying to get a foothold here. They also had similar Taiwan made tools that probably resembled Carlyle tools more down to the teeth on their combination wrenches' open ends.

Both BOXO & SP Tools had some really nice foam inlay sets. I guess the rest of the world likes the foam inlay sets. :D

Nice looking stuff.

Was surprised to see the set of double Saltus wrenches in one of the drawers. Figured that style had gone by the way side.

What's the depth of these boxes?

They look to be 20" or less? Couldn't quite make out dimensions in the catalog pictures...

That's awful spendy for an 18" deep box. :(

Well we all know how retail pricing goes. I think a custom colored set up under a couple grand would be interesting if the right set of circumstances evolved. For myself the only way something like this would interest me at this point in my life would be for the race trailer just cause it looks cool. In my shop, not gonna happen.

They have a decent range of socketry, wrench sets, hand tools etc. I think.they are another Taiwan tool retailer that offers value for money in the mid range tool market.

Sold locally to me in auto-parts store. Looking at them I would guess "made in China". Not on par with Sonic or Toptul in finish. One step down the ladder....

Probably nothing wrong with them, plenty of china tools are fine today.

That's one hell of a lot of Taiwan tools & box for $168- (1003 tools). The Boxo I've seen for sale/sold appears to be decent Taiwan tools far from 'bottom end' stuff. A pop-up deal like that makes one think, 'if it sounds too good to be true'...

I think somebody needs to take the chance and let the rest of us know the results.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on it. It might be a scam after I went to check out it dropped the price from 168 to 110. Then you can only use Mastercard,Amex, or a ACH bank withdrawal. Well they weren't getting my banking info so I used my Mastercard. I made the purchase on 8/29 didn't get any kind of email confirmation or anything. They have a track your order button that you get a message saying temporarily unable to access. I kinda forgot about it then I checked it again yesterday before I called the credit card company. Now there is tracking. It shows that it has left the UK and is in the US in customs waiting for processing. So maybe it's real maybe it's not. I'll keep you all informed whether it gets here or not. If it does that's a $110 gamble that paid off.

Interested to see what happens here. The site is just over 3 months old, it has secure payment facilities which is uncommon for fully rogue scammers. The site appears to be somewhat legit. The 'scam watch' type site put it in the high risk category but mainly due to no reviews of feedback, not because people have reported being fleeced. It has a credibility rating of ZERO but as mentioned its really to early to tell what's going on with these guys. Half of me admire's your tenacity in having a crack, your somewhat protected through your card provider but the other half questions your judgement & think your friggin mad! The site had 'today only' deals with like 1100 tools in a 7 draw box for $100 shipped!!!!! I couldn't post that box of tools next door for that price. Boxo tools aren't garbage, they are decent Taiwan tools that retail for good money. If the tools show up and the deal turns out it'll be the 'you-****' of the century! I sincerely hope it happens for you. Keep us posted.

It seems literally impossible to me for their claims to be real, kinda cool you just went for it, hope you can get your card company to refund it it doesn't work out. Please report back what happens!

Tracking Updated today still in customs processing. I'm guessing that is where it will stay and they will blame it on customs.

:Homer:Will they communicate with you through email? Many scammers these days have wised up by sending something with a tracking no to extend the period they can run the scam before its well known what they're up too. Fingers still crossed!:fingersx:

Haven't tried email yet. But the fact that they keep updating the tracking is interesting. You would think after a few days they would stop any updates. You have to log into your account on the website to see it. But hey I knew the risks when I did it

Just a heads up. Just that action can and will offend many a member here. That isn't directed at anyone in this thread, but it's a reality here.

But so you don't feel alone. The very first forum I ever joined only happened when I found out forum members got a 10% discount. So with signing up being free and all, it was a win win saving 10 off a $1,500.00 exhaust system. :pimpflash

Little did I know that lead to changing the direction of my life. My advice for this joint, stay clear of the Hot Deals section :lol_hitti

One last thing and I hope this doesn't come off offensive. We've had many a troll sign up just to peddle their wares. Didn't matter how they went about it the truth always came out. My suggestion to you would be if you actually receive this order, please post up pic's of the shipping boxes as well as the contents if you'd like to be taken seriously.

Trust me I know how that comes across, but I've been here more then long enough to see how some of these guys roll. Removing all doubt really helps. ;)

No worries, I have no wares to peddle. The topic was on point and if I can help someone save some time or money and not go through a hassle I will. I'm not trolling or looking for any discounts. Give me some time I will peruse the forum and chime in when I have something of interest to discuss. Thanks for the heads up.

Been sold for years here. Marketing is aimed for pros and more serious hobbyists. Quality-vice a little better than usual big box store tools, but the price is also higher. Definetly nothing to compare with "real" tool makers such as Gedore, Facom etc.

That said, collection seems to be a bit different in those pics compared to what we have here.

Update time, after 10 days in customs processing the tracking tells me it has been released from customs. The website has been updating every 2 days. I thought that it would just stay in processing until i called the credit card company. Well we will see what happens next.

 That's good news, what turns up on your doorstep is the BIG question, I've never seen a retail tool deal as good as this, its so good I mean ridiculously good that everyone presumes its a scam. As mentioned earlier, the sight has a few small points of credibility like secure payment facility. It appears legit but can't be guaranteed as nobody has had the kahoonas to do any business and report findings. Fingers crossed!

Ok I guess I am due for an update it shows that it made it to my town. Then a miss delivery. Maybe it got loaded on a pallet and semi which would not be able to deliver to my area. Now it will be put on a smaller truck to be able to get to my area. I did email them asking for the name of the delivery Company but have not received a reply. If it is a scam they are doing a great job manipulating the tracking. Hopefully next post will have pics of tools and boxes.36cc8a6f42fcf75c85ac56361c66227a.jpg
