BOYCRAFT Scroll Saw Restoration

Hi All,
I picked up this little Scroll Saw for $10 today. It's in great shape and works well. No model number on this but there is a faint patent number. Anyone know the maker on these? Ill post photos as I tear it down and rebuild.

Never heard of the brand. What kind of motor is in it?

Interesting. Looks like a buggy seat spring.

Looks like it was made by Syncro Devices Inc. and branded under a few names including Boycraft. Ill have pictures of the motor this weekend. This uses coping saw blades.

Fascinating. So it uses a vibrating magnetic motor like barber's clippers.

so the magnetic motor is weak as a kitten on this thing (I thought it was just bound up with sawdust). The entire top plate bounces up and down for the motor action. It is quite an interesting idea. So, I wont invest any time in a resto. It's a nice shelf piece.
