No work for me today so I got some F100 time. Finished up the body work on the passenger's door and got the outside in etch primer.
Strippped and blasted the passengers side fender. No collision issues with this one. Just some rust in the same areas as the other side.

I love reading your threads, your work is inspiring. I have a 31' Tudor with original henry paint and have been really considering a redo as my two weel weels had to be replaced and have no paint. Your work and techniques is giving me inspiration to do it.

I switched out the wheels & tires just for you
I actually wanted to let the truck sit on its own weight to see if the front springs will settle a bit as weight gets added. These will hold air for more than a few days.
Never have really thought about t shirts, I did have some decals made a few years again.
In other F100 news as I was out working on stripping some parts yesterday afternoon a FedEx truck pulled in. I have a couple parts on order, but wasn't expecting anything. Turns out it was my FiTech EFI system. Jegs had originally given me a mid-June ship date.
And one of the reasons this system was appealing to me..the wiring harness all 4 wires of it

In other F100 news as I was out working on stripping some parts yesterday afternoon a FedEx truck pulled in. I have a couple parts on order, but wasn't expecting anything. Turns out it was my FiTech EFI system. Jegs had originally given me a mid-June ship date.

F100 progress...all the grill parts primed and installed.
I think Ford should have put a few more bolts to hold the valance and grill assembly on...60 just doesn't seem like enough
Next I moved onto fitting the front bumper. The factory gap had to go.
Done a little frame horn surgery and cut 2.5 inches off to allow the bumper to slide back. I was originally planning on narrowing the bumper, but after getting it on and seeing how well it followed the body I decided to leave it alone.
Set the bed back on to check and few things and get some measurements. I use my gantry crane to make the lifting duties easier.
Sitting right. I think the rear is only going to need about an 1 inch lowering block.
Bed back off and up on stands for some more mockup. Fuel tank and exhaust will be on the way soon. I reinstalled the steering column last night along with the Lokar shifter.

Not much bodywork going on this week, been working on getting a few of the mechanical systems figured out. First thing on the list was installing the '69 Mustang 22 gallon fuel tank. It is EFI ready with internal baffling for an in tank electric fuel pump.
To fit it in the frame the rear crossmember had to be removed and moved back.
Next I moved onto fitting the radiator. While shopping for a radiator I noticed the 53-56 F100's were dimensionally the same as the 57-60's, just the mounting brackets were different and they were $140 cheaper. I figured for a $140 bucks I could come up with some way to mount it.
What I ended up having to do was shave about a 1/2 inch off the side of a flange on the front to let it sit back in the core support and make 4 simple L-brackets to hold it secure
Then I moved onto getting the throttle pedal and cable fit. Both the pedal and cable are Lokar. Pedal placement is a little odd on this truck as it mounts on the transmission cover. What I do like by having to use a floor mount pedal is the routing of the cable will be easier to hide.
Just a few pics of the engine compartment. I think its going to come together nicely once its all painted. The valve cover on it are just for mockup.

Absolutely awesome project, and coming together nicely.
That massive compartment swallows up that engine, but it sure looks super clean, and not cluttered at all. Nice work!

Agree with the other comments, super job and will be a very nice ride when done.
I will say when I saw the full cab with the green primer that all that was missing was some white, stenciled lettering for a killer military rig. Would fit in with Zeph's Quasi WWII Era vehicles, just with the very modern twist.

I'm so looking forward to an update on this project. I think I am getting DT's!
Just been working on some loose ends and nothing really major to show.
Took this pile of mandrel bends and made an exhaust system out of it. Its 2.5" builders kit from summit with a pair of MagnaFlow mufflers
This little guy makes cutting exhaust tubing a lot easier
Put to use some steel braided brake hose I had laying around since 2005
Also made and ran all the hard lines
Made mounting brackets for the trans cooler and fitted the braided hose.
And finally test fit the gauge adaptor. It allows you to run aftermarket gauges with the stock instrument cluster panel

Thats pretty much what I've been up to for the last few weeks. I'll leave with a comparison from what I started with and its current state.

I finally caught back up on this thread! Man, it's sure getting a lot closer to the finish line, looks great!
I like that gauge adapter piece. I had a look-see on their website, to see if they made any for '66 Ford trucks, and they do! I may end up snagging one of those for my project-to-be.
One question...looking at the lower photo, the black tool in the upper left corner, is that a tubing bender? Just wondering, I haven't seen that type before.
