Thought I'd see if anyone else knows what this old (1960's) modified VACO screw driver was used for. This was part of my Dad's work. I actually used it a few times myself. Today it's not much use.
Anyone know what the purpose was?

I don't know but I bought a box of snap on screwdrivers at an auction that had one that had been modified almost the same.

My first guess would be a brake spring removal tool...

But my second guess would be an Egyptian Brain removal tool! So did the op's Father ever work on "MUMMIES" on the side back in the 60's???:wtf::scared::dunno::evil:

Alright.... My dad was a motocycle policeman back in the day. They were given this handy little tool to assist motorists who locked their keys in the car. Back when cars had the pull up door lock, you could slip this around the door gasket and flip the door lock back up.
Thanks for playin'
