Picked up an older brake lathe last weekend. Looks like it's drum-only, but a nice compact machine with all the adapters plus the truck arbor set
Needs some cleanup which i am just starting on.
Model number is Snap-On NEL
So one of the first things I need to do is remove the 1" arbor. Most brake lathes have a draw-bolt. This does not appear to have one, unless it's hidden somehow. Under that cover is a complex drive system with 2 bicycle chains and a belt. The mechanism where the drawbolt should be doesn't look to be easily removable. Sorry, don't have a photo of that.
I did pull the the iron cover from the left end of the headstock. that just revealed a bearing. I thought that might pull out, which I tried, but not very emphatically.
Anyone know how the arbor comes out?
Also would love to find a PDF manual, but an hour or so of searching hasn't produced one.
