We had one at work, PITA to use! Constantly needed adjustment, and the shear required 2 people to turn the cranks, even with thin gauges. We ended up chucking it!

I would go with dedicated machines, although cost would be significantly higher.

i used one and liked it very much or the roll an brake part. worked great for all the items i was bending. i never got to try out the sheer much but i do remember it only shearing thin stuff. we had one as we just didnt have the room for dedicated machines or the money to buy them all. for a hobby setup its not bad

a friend has one and its good for thin meterial, small projects at home

the capacity is never what they claim on those chineese things. figure it for a guage below what they claim

the brake portion on my friends the fingers were too sharp and would damage thin material. they had to have their edge taken off them a bit

I need a brake for 16 gauge though!:D

Don't know how much I'd need, or like a roller.

I have an older import 3 way. I think HF took over this line because it looks the same. 16 ga is a tough call for this tool. 18 is near the limit.

The rollers work on a little heavier ga, but want to slip. You didn't want those anyway. So get a decent brake and cut your metal with a saw like Jack does with his Diablo blade.
