Branch circuit conduit needed?

I'm installing a branch circuit to a panel in my new attached garage. Its fed from the main panel in the house.
My question is I'm unable to run it through the wall completely do I need to enclose the cable in PVC or other pipe to meet code?
It looks like a 90 degree turn will be needed for it to re enter the wall.

Would it be easier to just extend the new sheetrock the extra foot or so?

I guess it would be possible. The new foundation stops before that. I could frame it out and extend and leave the bottom exposed.
Conduit or pvc would be easier but would it pass inspection?

If you don't want to extend the wall, how about putting an LB right where the cable comes out of the wall. Run a short piece of conduit up into the bottom of the panel and surface mount it. I doubt you will be able to get a 90 to work, and after everything is finished, it's going to look ridiculous.

Shall we assume that wire is just sitting there as an example...that you will run a new piece, OR there is a ton of excess inside the wall and you can just pull that to you?

If you need to splice it right as it sits there, then a large 6x6x4 or 12x12x6 box, enter in the back of the box, then exit the box and into the studs at a 90- with the box tight against the stud/wall (and Id want sheetrock behind the box).

Oh, if you do sheetrock it, you extend the bottom plate too- dont just 'leave it open'...extending the wall will- by far- be the 'cleaner' of all options.
