I just purchased a new IR 2135timax and as soon as I hooked up air to it I noticed air leaking through the exhaust port. It is like the trigger is being feathered. I will be calling IR tomorrow and do you think it's too much to expect a replacement gun? Also, I seem to recall reading somewhere that IR had problem with this leak/issue am I correct?

Where did you buy it from? I'm guessing you bought it online. Otherwise, why wouldn't you just take it back to the store?

I actually bought it at sears. They only had two in stock and I originally was handed the other one they had in stock. I opened it in the store and right away I could tell it was a return by the way the instruction manuals and gun were repackaged. Also the box appeard damaged. I asked the salesman for the other one and he happily switched them. When I opened mine I know I was the first to open it but as soon as I put air to it I was dissapointed by the leak.

Well that ***** man. The other one that was returned may have the same issue. It may be best just to go through IR customer service, and tell them Sears didn't have anymore. You might also try exchanging it at another Sears, if you have one in your area. Another alternative: return it to Sears. And buy it for cheaper from Amazon.

Then buy the boot for it and still come out cheaper.
