Just had this light shipped for $7 rather than picking it up I would have spent $7 at least in gas.
Every time I set it down on metal or look at it the wrong way it goes out anyone else have this problem?
Will harbor freight send me some type of way to ship that back for free and ship me a new one or do I have to waste gas and take it to a store?

We ran into the same issue on a brand new one:

And actually that was the 3rd one we've purchased total over the course of around 18 months.
MOST of the time tightening the base cap solves the problem, it's a ground connection that's being interrupted by poor thread engagement. But other times it doesnt matter how tight the base is, it will still flicker or shut off no matter what, then you'll have die hard HF fans saying you just don't know how to use a light that only has 1 button correctly.

Right, I don't think I know how to use it.........lol
I think I did try to tighten it up.
Hope I have better luck with the new one.
New one won't get here until after Christmas ⛄ though.

I have had the same problem. The magnetic base which holds the battery compartment will latch onto metal and slightly loosen causing a bad connection. So try to make sure its tight. Also, if the battery is low it will go on for a few seconds or so and then switch off. You think you have a bad connection, but it is due to a low charge.Make sure it is well charged. Lastly, the wand hits a dead spot and ligth turns off. Just move the arm up/down and should be ok. BTW, I have three of these lights. My go too light for most jobs.

Battery life is poor, the light itself seemed to fail pretty quickly and don't drop it that will usually do them in...........but the magnet is great.
I've pretty much given up on the braun lights the only one I've had luck with is the magnetic base hockey puck and even on low they don't last half the time the Snappy model does.
