See in the Harbor Freight catalog a new Braun labeled under hood work light 845 lumens $39.99

Anybody seen or used one yet?

Wonder if its that much better

At least it has a lumen rating the old one never did

I also see the Braun handheld light is getting some decent online reviews

Looks like they may be dumping the old one wasn't much good anyways lowest price I've seen $24.99 red tag sale

Probably wouldn't buy the underhood myself as don't like rechargeable one as never last long enough so done myself a powered version for in the shop, may consider it as a portable item if batteries easily removed . Will take a look at on in HF and look at batteries and if also can be mains powered .
I got 2 of the folding magnetic lights and they working great in daily shop life and use both of them under hood at times and have samsung 30Q batteries for them with off-board charger .

Have one for 2years ( before rebranded as braun)
Works well, magnets could be stronger (i like to put Rag between lamp and paintwork)
Use it to do brakes(set across fender just below wheel arch), quite happy with it.
Mine came with plug in charger, and battery alligator clips

It works OK for general area light, but won’t replace a handheld light. I just did a water pump, and found I needed to get light close up to see what I was doing. Agree on the magnets. Kind of wimpy.

Yeh i'm using 2 of the handheld lights and don't really see need for the underhood .
