Between a pin and a threaded fastener of the same diameter and same material; a solid pin will take a higher load before failing. The sharp threads not only reduce the effective diameter, but act as stress risers.
All dead on except you missed one detail. The screws are never threaded in the area of max stress. They are only ever threaded at the very end where there is essentially no bending stress.
The flex head ratchet is threaded as it is not intended for high torque a breaker bar is asked to endure.

The handle and pin portion of a Snap On ratchet and breaker are identical. What limits the ratchet capacity as a breaker is the ratchet mechanism itself.
For the SHLF80A, (long flex head ratchet) the std 1/2" dual 80 ratchet mechansim is rated at a max torque of 750ft lbs. Note that this portion of the ratchet is covered under warranty and only about $10 if you are not the original owner. I'm not sure what the failure mode is- whether its the teeth (I assume so) or the 1/2" drive shearing off.
Also with time and user preference slop can form causing the ratchet head to flop around. A user can tighten or loosen the screw to change that slop as desired. With a breaker bar, where high torque is expected and head slop isn't really a factor, a solid pin is a better design selection. .
Except: The clevis ears may spread under load. That increases the "unsupported (i.e. exposed) length" of the screw or pin, increasing it's bending stress. A screw can easily react the tendancy for the ears to spread. A screw design is a better/stronger one, especially if you keep the flex firm. Note that the Snap On breakers (SN24C, SHBB24) use screws.
Last, I think we are all well aware that foreign manufacturers do a good job of copying US designs. But they don't always do a good job of copying materials, processes, tolerances etc.
A good breaker is one with roughly the Snap On design ( a large screw, a firm spring). It also needs to have high quality steel, careful heat treatment, and manufacturing processes which are inspected by an independant minded and empowered inspector. The clearnace between the screw or pin and clevis holes is critical.
There are all sorts of tools I am happy to buy from China or other countries. A breaker bar isn't one of them. Brand new SN24 is about $120.
