"better" is pretty relative, sounds like he sold his Snap On boxes, switched to US General and scored a garage remodel with the difference. Well played seller if you ask me :pimpflash

Depends on your definition of "better"
Lower (significantly) priced and fully serviceable may constitute better for him.
If I were to go out and buy a Snap-On box, my wife would never shut up about what it cost. On the other hand, if I showed her the Snap-On box/price, and let her stew about the cost for a few days, before buying the HF box and told her how much money I saved...
Better!!!
Tactical misdirection.

Fully serviceable? Hf does not offer replacement parts....

Better for a DIY person whose box will see light use and the cost. But otherwise no, not better than snap on

Seller said he sold his Snap On boxes 2 years ago and went US General. And there is a 1-800 number for replacement US General parts... there's even a thread around here about getting replacement drawers.

It's a good advertisement, with nicely subtle puffery. He has defined "better" by noting details in construction that he claims are superior. If he hadn't gone so far, it might have been misleading, but it looks like he stepped just far enough over the threshold.

He knows it's not better than Snap-On; better being defined as superior construction. He just wants to sell a silly tool box, and he's getting plenty of publicity for it right now.

I had a Hf box about a year ago and found that number useless. Maybe things have changed but...

Weird, that guy lives a mile from me and I too sold a SnapOn box for HF 44"s. Must be a Gilbert thing.

Words of wisdom from someone who discovered his problem with using a ruler..

Box=OK / HF sale price.

Might be better off skipping the babbermania ... just place an ad like normal people do.

Relax guys... It's just a sales pitch.

We really don't need to get into this "which is better" or "Snap-On is overpriced" debate again. They both have their place in the world, and everyone's place is different!
