I take it the garage is being built in a factory and then it will be trucked to the job site and installed on the concrete pad. May I inquire as to why you went that route instead of building the garage on-site?

The two main reasons were price and speed at which the building is built and delivered and erected on site with very little inconvenience on site.
I already have a good relationship with the company building the garage (two other buildings they built and moving one once)they do great work in a timely manner and are very easy to deal with and very reasonable.

Thank you for the explanation, I appreciate it. I don't know that I have ever seen a garage that was built in a factory and then put up on-site. I have seen houses done that way many times, but not one single garage. I wasn't even aware they did garages that way. I learned something new today. Thank you for that.

Who did you use for the slab? I need to have my 20x20 redone and I'm right outside Philly as well (Abington).

The structure looks like it's going to be nice. Good call on an Amish built unit!

Wow, very cool! I'm sure there's still a good wait time you need to be patient while they build off site, but it certainly cuts down on on site time!

It was very quick most of the delay was on my end ,I wanted the concrete to cure a little longer. The crew will be here tommorow to start the onsite work they would wrap up in two days but there is an amish holiday on Thursday,so they should be done Friday

Neighbors on the next block over did the same Thing with a single car and an upstairs area.
One issue they ran into was the stairs landing at the second floor so that part had to be redesigned for local code compliance.

They looked at several companies in that area for the garage project. I’m outside of Washington DC.

Wow, cool looking space you've setup for yourself. Thanks for the pictures. What kind of workshop are you going to be making upstairs?

I'm going to move my little woodshop up there eventually,I'm more of a tinkerer in wood anymore so I'm not worried about sheet goods or anything like that.
