This story begins about 15 months ago. I'm finally at the point of having something to share and write about. The posts will be slow but steady.
Our plan is to build a 40X60X12 pole barn. 800 sq. ft. of the barn will be an apartment for weekend stays.
We started with 11 acres of raw land. No utilities at all. The price was right and I really didn't think getting utilities would be difficult especially since there is a house within 100 yards of one of my property corners. Boy was I wrong. Oh well, another one of life's lessons. More on that later.
Here is a pic from the day we purchased the land. Barbed wire fence along the road. No way to access my lot with a vehicle.
First order of business was to add an entry and a gate
Here are some other shots of the lot. The front part is a 5 acre pasture, then a tree line, then a 3 acre pasture, then a dense wooded area, then a creek. I fenced in the front 3.5 acres and that will be where the pole barn will be constructed.
