So finally after years of planning, saving and waiting the shop build is getting there. Moved into the new to us house in April 2013, twice as big as the last house and three times the property 1.35 acres. Broke ground mid September 2013 and FAILED to get pictures of the build.. In true GJ fashion I planned to take pics along the way but I did not. Here is what I have so far.

Shop is a 26' x 36' with 10' walls and a tray ceiling for a two post. I have been lurking here for a long time so I had many ideas on what I wanted. More pics inbound.

I farmed out the concrete, brick, framing and roofing. Trim, siding and the rest is on me. Slow progress but it is getting there.

This site has been great while I planned this build. Wife says I'm obsessed with the garage, I probably am. Eventually I will need to focus on the house and some bathroom remodels and other areas.

Future updates: need to schedule the rough electrical and framing inspection by the county building inspectors.

Plans for lighting. 4 four foot fluorescent lights, 8 LED can lights, 3 eight foot fluorescent strips... I thinks that's it. I may do some under cabinet lights later in the build.

Electrical. Plan to put 20amp outlets everywhere and 50amp outlets for the Tig and Plasma. Dedicated 30amp circuits for the future mini-split AC heat pump, lift and air comp.

Insulation. I plan on using fiberglass and doing this myself.

I plan on putting drywall on the walls and the 10' ceiling but I am considering putting OSB or ply on the tray ceiling and 13' area.

First panel ever attempted.. Had some guidance from the electrician who hooked up to the panel in the basement.

Great looking building! I'm anxious to see what you do with the interior. Any plans at this point?

Looking good there BRICK!

What location or general area are you located ? I'm outside Englewood if you need any help? I like the company car also!

Thanks. Plan to drywall the walls and 10' ceilings, still trying to decide on what to do for the tray ceiling (OSB or PLY). Top half of walls and ceiling will be white, lower will be grey. Of course there will be all the shelving, cabinets, tool storage and workbenches. The garage will mainly serve as a shop for metal working, welding, woodworking and vehicle maintenance.

Looking good there BRICK!

Live in Warren County between Lebanon and Springboro. Thanks for the offer, company car is great, it does advertise and attract some people who think you need to solve their problems when you are off work.

This week is 70 hours + so I hope to have some updates this weekend.

Added privacy fence posts before concrete, installed panels after. Don't have updated pics, but house soffits and gutters are now white to match the garage.

Interior pics inbound next

I plan on adding a blue stipe through the black sometime. Should have done that before moving everything in, but I had cars to work on.

I love the look of the ceiling... By code I'm only aloud just under 15 to the peek of the roof and that would not work for a hoist (which is a must) I can ask for a variance and I probably will but I'm guessing a couple feet will be easier to pass than a whole bunch...
size wise??? is 26 big enough??? (and I know everyone says "go bigger" but again I'm limited in our town)
Great build...
