I have a HD-14 Bendpak 4 post lift and two RJ-7 bridge jacks that the cylinders are leaking badly on. Does anyone know of a source for replacement cylinders for the jacks other than Bendpak which are on a two month backorder?.I have searched and can find nothing on them online. There was a Bendpack rep member here on the board I believe, does anyone have his contact information?. Thanks for any help.

Called Bendpak today and they have no seals available. They did 4 years ago because I got seals from them at that time and rebuilt one jack. The then new jack was scored from the factory when I dissasembled it and lasted only about 6 months befor leaking again. Someone has to sell cylinders for these.

Ayuh,.... Are the cylinders, 'n rams rebuildable, If ya could find seals for 'em,..??

If so,.... Baum Hydraulics corp of Omaha Neb. is My go to place for any sorta seals, o-rings or seal kits that nobody else has,...

They have a website, but gettin' a copy of their Resale Red Book is the way I go,....
The catalog is a great reference resource,....
Worst case scenario, I pull a ram apart, mic up the pieces, 'n buy what I need, by the piece from Baum,....
You can shop by measured size, 'n type of material for 'bout any hyd. seals,...

Well I can't find any cylinders anywhere which I find strange. This is the first time I have not been able to find what I need online. I will have to send the out to be rebuilt I suppose. Thanks for the help.

You shouldn't need cylinders. Seals leak and you replace them, leaving the cylinders in place.

Gotcha, I did see in post #7 that you were going to check them for scoring, but didn't see a result from checking them.

If trying to rebuild, there is some reason the chrome rod is scoring, could be a problem in the rod guide, which could be cast iron or bronze, or maybe the rod scraper/wiper simply decayed and some abrasive material got piled in there on coincidence. Worthwhile to have that checked out and not just glossed over with fresh seals. Making new rod(s) should be a possibility for most hydraulic shops if the rod size aligns with some sort of standard available in the pre-chromed shafting.

OP, you have not shared your location. It is easier to offer specific information and advice if we have an idea, such as "near Grand Canyon" where you are.

At one point in my history, I worked in an Industrial Hydraulics Shop, we serviced all manner of cylinders, pumps, and equipment. We routinely cup open welded cylinders and rebuilt them.

Give your local hydraulics shop a call; if you can't find one locally, ask a heavy equipment repair shop for a recommendation.
