I had replaced some of my outdoor floods with LEDs a while back, but they were @ $40/bulb so I refrained from replacing all of them until prices lowered. I recently found these DAYLIGHT Sylvania LEDs for @ $19/bulb and replaced the rest of my outdoor security lighting with them.
4 of these turn my backyard into daylight combined (1,000 watt equivalent) burning less than a single 100 watt incandescent bulb. I replaced my dual-bulb fixtures with a DIY light bar that evenly spaced each bulb along the length of my house. By separating the bulbs, each bulb's flood pattern now overlaps minimizing the hard shadows caused by the single point light sources and more evenly illuminates the yard.
They are dimable and worked with my existing motion sensors.
Hopefully they will last and that HD will continue to carry these and the prices continue to fall.
