Broadcast spreader?

Looking for a long-lasting, durable broadcast spreader for landscape purposes. This is for residential use and not even a huge lot just to use for overseeding, fertilizer, etc.

Seems like most of the Scotts ones are junk these days (lots of plastic parts). I'd rather spend a bit more and get something that will last instead of go to a landfill in just a season or 2.

Any recommendations?

Agri-fab makes a decent one. Been using one for years and i've had little troubles with it. Some parts did wear out and break but replacements arent too expensive. Just make sure you wash it down really good after use and let it dry.

Mine has a foam-padded handle, steel-tubing frame, pneumatic tires, and handle folds down for more compact storage kind of like a push-mower. I can't think of anything else a spreader should have.

Plastic parts aren't necessarily a bad thing. Fertilizer is pretty corrosive.
I've had more issues with metal parts on spreaders rusting.

The Scotts spreaders are cheap......so cheap that I don't think I've ever paid more than $5.00 for a used one in excellent condition Use it for a year or two for ice melt and pre-emergent weed killer and then toss it. I generally am against throw away stuff but if the Scotts spreaders weren't so common and cheap I'd buy something better.

LESCO makes lifetime stainless steel spreaders. 400-450 bucks.
Prize lawn makes a lower quality stainless steel spreader without a few options for 300 bucks. Both of the above spreaders are easier to push than the Scotts and earthway. Scotts and Earthway are junk in comparison
