Broke a Husky Ratchet

So I broke the internal selector spring on my "USA" Husky ratchet. I am going to try and find another spring, but not sure if that will fix it. The selector switches on its own when I backdraft, then switches back when I put opposing pressure on it. Do you guys know if it is a simple as a spring? It's in two pieces, so I know it is broke, but don't know if it is the cause. Thanks in advance for your insight

You can just bring it to HD for a new one, if you can sleep at night knowing it's not US made.. Or just look for parts for your model if that's possible.. It's a ratchet - not much to it..

Yea I don't really care that much about the ratchet itself, but I was not sure if Home Depot warranties old ratchets. The "USA" aspect is somewhat sarcastic as it is from the time when Stanley was stamping them USA, but litigation proved they were not actually.

Anyway, I quite like the ratchet, as it fits my hand great, and would rather not give it up if I can fix it. I just wonder if it is the spring.

A pic of the ratchet in question ,might help . Is it a round head ratchet?
There are some kits available for some of the old round heads.there were a few versions. Post a pic of the ratchet you have that is broken.
I might be able to help out.

I'll get a pic when I get home, but it is a pearhead polished ratchet that I believe was a rebranded Stanley ratchet.

Like KCtyphoon said, there isn't much to them, especially a pearhead. Pull it apart and replace the spring and the ball, then see what happens.

I have a couple parts for a Husky rat similar to that one.
I have a spring out of one of my old ones .
Hit me up if you can use it?

Here is the ratchet

Ok, Gotcha.

Try using the selector lever spring that is found in the Craftsman 1/2" drive thin-Profile ratchet kits. The sizes are similar and Sears should be able to source one to you for cheap.

I wouldn't trade yours in for a Chicom replacement. Your ratchet is essentially a Proto Big Dawg with a quick release. If you don't want it, I'll gladly trade you a Brand new Husky 3/8" ratchet for it.

I replaced the spring with a modified hardware store spring and I am back in service. Thanks for the replies!
