Broke Kobalt Ratchet First Use

I had a Kobalt (non-USA) 1/4 socket set was going to keep in vehicle for spare tools. I went to use it on my wifes car for the first time it locked up won't turn either direction no cheater bar either. going to trade it in, but I will keep a better ratchet with the new one also.

That's tragic... I have a couple of Kobalt ratchets that are a few years old - the 3/8 isn't terrible but the 1/4 was just bad to use.

I have a couple of Kobalt USA ones seem good basically armstrong ratchets. I may just had a dud.

Yeah the Taiwan Kobalt ratchets are ****.....
It's not broken open it up and unjam it!
I broke a 3/8 rat and went to warranty it and all they had other than one 18" flex was a new 90t out of a 3 pack well got home it felt awful so went back and bitched and got the 18" flex to go with my snap on and Mac 18"ers and it's good. That's how to get **** done get angry withem!

My neighbor bought a kobalt set... Opened it up and I think two of the ratchets wouldn't work, locked up. Took the cover off and tried oiling, still had crappy movement. I didn't bother looking into it further, I told him to take them back to the store and exchange. A new ratchet should work, period...
