So what's your point? You also violate the warranty but have a driver that is good enough to warranty stuff anyway?....:headscrat

Why is it breaking their warranty? I own very few snap on tools aquired from my dad. Do they only the original purchaser or what? If that is honestly the case: 1. What is so great about spending 14 times the price of any other brand on them? 2. Why are people buying them second hand if they "can't" get them warrantied. You would be better off with either HF or Craftsman or any other brand if that is the case.

You violated the Snap On warranty and expected them to honor it? Then criticize them when they went above and beyond?..... Do your research before you start trolling.....;)
I had to ask my granddaughter what a troll was after she stopped laughing she explained what that was
I have made approx four posts on this site and i am called a troll .If that's what i am called what is a person with well over two thousand posts called

I joined this site because well after retirement i have entered the world of DIY I thought it would be a good site for help exchange of info etc instead i get bullying

I love it. "Troll". I'm still not 100% sure what it means, either. But I hope you don't leave. There is still some good info on this garage forum. Don't be discouraged by one or two ball busters.

But I do share in your thoughts of the 2,000 post posters. I cannot help but grin when I see a guy with 10,000 posts giving out real world advice. Seriously......if the guy has written 10,000 posts, seems to me that's all he has time to do.....write posts.

You also have to take into account the length of time a poster has been a member. There are some posters here in around the 10,000 count to whom many of us are thankful for their generosity and commitment to keeping some of the best threads GJ has to offer going.

Remember the old adage: "If you want to get something done, ask someone who is busy"

If refers to somebody living under a bridge, did you not ever read the fairy tales to your children?

& in modern day reference a person who makes a statement to get a reaction, like a fisherman who pulls a lure behind his boat to get a reaction from some dumb fish.

Reread, lighten up, and stick around.

I said you were trolling (verb, not noun) as there about 100,000 posts on here where people bash everything from Snap On to China to Sears to HF. It gets old. Your bash of SO was based on a baseless claim of warranty. Snap On ONLY warranties the original owner....do some drivers not care, sure, but you cannot bash SO or a driver (who is just trying to make a living like everyone else) for NOT (or taking a while) warrantying when you have no basis for a warranty.

Now settle down your troll minions, stick around, and join the discussions.......unless of course, you were in fact trolling......:bounce:

snap on usually only warranties the blade, not the handle part

I've had handles break. Then they replace the whole enchilada.
But given the choice, I'd prefer a replacement blade. The handles I have fit into the blow molded trays I keep them in, and the replacement instinct handle I have fits funny (just like my F80 doesn't fit into the spot my F936 was in).

Tools are only warrantied to original owner. Is it broken by drivers, of course, but they also have every right to refuse.

Humm, lets see.

According to this site, I joined October 2010. That's around 1491 days, and 4901 posts, which makes 3.3 posts per day.

You joined September 2014. That's at most 75 days (if you joined September 1st) with 169 posts. 2.3 posts per day. Ok.

So if you keep it up, you'll hit 10000 in under 12 years.

Thanks. Really.....THANKS. I sincerely did not know that.

Considering that, why would they say "troll" like it's a BAD thing....?

Edit....I ask only because I thinks it's funny when someone gets mad.

A forum is to exchange information and a person just trying to get people upset and break up the exchange is not doing it for the good of the forum.
Normally what happens is it breaks down into a flame war and users start taking sides and it turns into no fun.
Unless your whole aim in life is to get people pissed off and cursing at one another.
But here if it starts to get personal they shut down the thread. Which is a good thing.

Speaking of broken Snap-On tools, I just cracked a 13mm mid-length chrome 3/8 drive socket right down the middle, by hand. LT1 Chevy head bolts are TIGHT and hard to loosen. Switched to an impact socket and got that cylinder head off.

Gonna have to visit the tool truck next week. Might buy some more socks too.

Love those socks
