Well just after someone gets through praising armstrong ratcheting wrenches I break one. By no means was I abusing it. 3/4 and the only torque put on it is how much a lock nut would put on it. I was no where near close to getting it tightened down. To make matters worse I finished the job with a gearwrench.

Can't tell what broke. Did it just pop out and just a matter of popping back in?

I agree, unless there is a broken retaining ring or something I would just put that into a vice and press the mechanism carefully back in. If you are really worried about it just call the manufacturer or seller and ask what to do.

Looks like you just need to squeeze the snap ring and push it back in.

It happens once in a great while depending on the angle and pressure you put on the wrench. Don't fear though, it's not broken, just snap it back in and you're good to go.

Armstrong and Gearwrench are both part of Apex Tool group. It wouldn't Surprise if they are of similar design or made in the same factory. I don't know if that's the Case, Just wouldn't surprise me.

Was gunna say the same thing, except for the Armstrongs made "here" and the gearwrenches made "there". Some gearwrench products are "assembled" here. Good enough for me lol
