I have a 3/8's FL710B snap on ratchet and i broke the teeth inside of it, my question is, do i have to chase down a snap on guy to get it fixed/replaced or will snapon send me a kit to fix it for free, Thanks for the info

That's what I figured. It's pretty hard to break the standard length 3/8" ratchet, even the 5 dollar ones from Wal-Mart. What size socket did you use when it failed?

If the ratchet needs a repair kit will they just send you a new model? I always wondered if they had a team of guys just sitting there rebuilding ratchets.
Correct, mail in warranty does not repair ratchets and they mail you what ever the current replacement is.
i'm thinking it was a 13mm or so, we were replacing the rack and pinion steering , under my BIL old toyota, my momma always said that i could " tear up a crowbar in a sand pile" i guess it takes skill to do that

Do you have to call before you send in the Ratchet?
I don't want to go to the web site right now, a lot of the websights are crashing this POS system.
Heck, it would be real nice to get an F80 back for the one I have.

Nope. Just include a slip of paper with your return information and phone number and the model of ratchet that you're shipping in. They'll take care of the rest.

I emailed SO about warrenties for 4 ratchets, they emailed me back and said they'd send me rebuild kits and asked for name address and model numbers, I sent that back and 4 days later I had a box with 4 brand new ratchets sitting on my porch, they never even asked me to return the old ones.

Ok, without the thread disintegrating into a this company vs that company argument I have to ask. What were you doing with a 3/8" ratchet that caused it to break? I have everything from harbor freight to craftsman to snap-on 3/8" ratchets and no matter how hard I have beat on them I have yet to have one break. I keep hearing of people calling up snap-on to order ratchet repair kits but it blows my mind that there are that many ratchets breaking. And no, that is not a snipe at snap-on as I am aware that nobody would even consider posting on here inquiring about a rebuild kit for a $3 harbor freight ratchet. Is it an abuse issue, a wear issue, a design issue? What is causing so many ratchets to break and need rebuild kits?

well keith, the reason i break stuff is cause im 6'5'' 300+ lbs and bench press about 450 lbs, i dont feel that i abuse tools, but i do ask alot from them, the ratchet that i had to fix was 10'' long and had a 13mm socket on it, i was under the car on my back and was pushing up on the ratchet, on that same bolt after i broke the ratchet, i broke a breaker bar too, so needless to same that bolt was a tighter than a frogs ***

Maybe cause some of us work on old stuff, and sometimes bolts are stuck. Some of us are stronger than others. I have bent my 3/8 short handle breaker bar, no cheater, by hand.(snap on) Long ratchetes have no chance. I often use 3/8 in hard to reach spots. That is why I buy the best tools I can, cause like the OP, I ask alot from my tools. I bought a set of harbor freight sockets and ratchets for home use and broke the 3/8 on a lawnmower blade bolt the first time using it. (green handle pitttsburg pro, short no flex) I have found for my hands sake, I only use snap on ratchets at work. I am buying more to use at home.
