So I bought a Delta 28-150 for $30 yesterday and broke it in the same day.. The tensioner was stressed out apparently and I broke it by trying to tighten the band a bit (it wouldnt cut, just bend. I figured it was the right thing to do. Anyways, apparently I cannot get that part, such a simple fix as everything else is in really good shape.

What would you guys do? Try to part it out on eBay?

Lesson learned, trying to save money seems to be a waste and I should just save up a bit more and pay up :shocking:

I think its the part you linked. When I looked earlier, there was only a few saw blades and maybe a wheel or two on eBay.. I **** at finding stuff though. I've had people point things out to me when it was literally just under my nose lol :headscrat

It looks like you can weld it. It's an obsolete part. But probably the part (tension bracket) is compatible with these delta bandsaws model #s: BS100, 28-150, SM400, BS150LS, and BS28-180. Try to call Delta .

I found a Delta wood lathe on CL that needed parts and found that parts from Delta are almost non-existent(something to do with the Chinlee buying the company).
I looked around and found that most other brands had a model that looked identical. I bought the parts I needed from Grizzly and with some minor changes have a working lathe......maybe you would have the same sucess?

I always considered these saws a bit on the light duty end, but here's a review from a guy who's positive about them. Try his mod after you get your new bracket.

I read reviews on this saw before I bought it, and read that the blades comes off easy, but it has the height and width of cut that was good for me and the price. When I first started to use it, the blade came off about every five minutes. It wasn't difficult to understand the problem. The tilt ajustment is to sloppy. I drilled and tapped a 1/4 28 hole above the fulcrum of the tilt ajustment point and installed a set screw. After setting the blade guides snug against the blade, and the tilt adjustment, I snugged the set screw up so there is no movement in the blade tilt. I cut hardwoods 3 inches thick and two to three feet long and this little gold mine cuts straight and the blade has never come off again. The complainers don't know how to take the time to ajust this saw. I spent about 30 minutes drilling and taping the set screw hole, and I've used the saw for over two months with NO PROBLEMS. Believe me, this is a truly good buy. Iam a machinist with 33 years experience and know a good machine when I see one.
