Done it many a time. They last long time.about all I can think of is use it for hand stoning something.
A reply like this might be taken as a real fix. A damaged grinder wheel should be tossed in the trash and never used again.Little bit of JB Weld should fix that.
That wheel has never spun while in my possession. This is off of an old belt driven grinder that I'm restoring. The threads on the shaft were so torn up that I had to destroy the shaft and this wheel to get it apart. I made a new shaft. I'll put a new wheel on it if I ever actually use it. I've been restoring grinders and vises just for the fun of it for a long time. I actually use one of the vises I restored but never a grinder. They're all gifts or wall hangers.... Sure hope that happened when you dropped it and not while it was spinning.
Yeah. Everybody knows Gorilla glue is the right product. Or is it Gorilla duct tape ….I'm pretty sure that we all got the humor/sarcasm here.
Ditto. I keep an old wheel on the bench for when I want to quickly knock a small burr off or blunt a sharp edge.about all I can think of is use it for hand stoning something.
Job in High School was working as driver in a place that made die sets. When I wasn't driving, I got to run a blanchard grinder. Had a wheel crack, guy that was "supervising" me just wrapped it with a bunch of fiber packing tape and said I was good to go. Being a dumb *** kid, I believed him and went back to grinding. Actually stayed together for a few minutes, till it didn't. Grinding stone went everywhere, luckily the guard worked. Have very vivid memories of that exploding in all directions...Little bit of JB Weld should fix that.
+5 or 6.Dude...throw it away.
Dude, come on.A reply like this might be taken as a real fix. A damaged grinder wheel should be tossed in the trash and never used again.
That guy needed some broken grinding wheels shoved straight up his *** sideways.Job in High School was working as driver in a place that made die sets. My vote is to toss it also, unless you're the kind of guy that can't toss anything. Or you can take the broken wheel and locate the above mentioned person and perform the procedure described. That guy needed some broken grinding wheels shoved straight up his *** sideways.
Why throw it out? Broken wheel has many use's other than a grinder. One more vote for tossing it out.
But think of the children!Folks.
Please.
Quit telling me to pitch it. I just want ideas of alternative uses for it.
If I can't find something else to do with it THEN I'll decide to throw it away.
I gave you options.Folks.
