Broken lock on SO Box?

There has been a listing on CL for the past few weeks for a bottom and top box, and they say that the locks are broken. They are selling the box's and tools - however they do not know what tools are in there? How hard is it to get into these box's if the locks are "broken"

Thanks
Joe S.

I dont even need to click on that youtube link... I know what it is. lol You can drill the lock out pretty easy or you can get the key code thats stamped right on the lock itself and give it to the local snap on guy. Pretty simple huh??

Drill it out, get to work and **** up the price of replacement seems to be the creedo.

For those not secure enuff to be on a "buddy system" at a shop where you give a key to your box to a co-worker, if you don't have an extra, then you have to drill the mo-fo out. (not applicable to selling a box of course :) )

I;ve seen it on shop floors with guys on strict time-clock check-in peramaters do it once or twice a month. Late, no keys, drill it out.

No keys = no box=late to work=no paycheck.

A little time consuming but not world ending.

I believe that that lock is stuck open not closed. That pittsburgh listing just reeks of stolen. I assume they busted the locks to see inside. Be very careful if you give the serial number to get new locks. My guess is the cops will visit you shortly after!

That box has been on there for a few weeks, and the price has been all over the place. 1500 to 1100 to 1300 now at 900. I may see if my buddy that works in Pittsburgh can
go with me and take a look after work today?

Thanks

they are not bad to change. just have to order a new set from a dealer or online.
drilling out the locks is the easiest thing to do. i usually start with a 1/8 bit and drill around the center of the lock until i can pry it out of there. then use a flat tip to actually turn the lock. do not drill it out completely or you will ruin everything attached to it.
it would be a 2 beer challange. 1 to get the tools gathered up, and one while you are drilling it out....
