Broken portable A/C question

My neighbour called me to take a look at their portable DeLonghi A/C unit as it wasn't blowing cool air.

Here's the rundown:

A LOT of hot air out the rear vent
Room temp air out of the front
No water in condensation bucket (it's been humid here and I'd expect it to be full after several hours use)

The unit has been sitting for several years without use
It takes R22

I didn't see or smell any oil in the unit when I peeked in with a flashlight

What's the chance the R22 has leaked out from non-use? If that's the case, it's junk. I wonder if there's anything else that should be looked at. Compressor was running, and I suspect the hot air out the back was the compressor cooking itself.

Thanks.

Likely a pin hole somewhere in the tubing. Not worth trying to repair, especially since the newer ones are much more efficient.

That's what I thought. I had an older unit develop a leak but the difference was compressor oil sprayed all over the inside of the unit. I was expecting to see something similar with this one.

Thanks.

If the rear vent is putting out hot air it's probably working. I would take the case off and clean out the coils. It's probably gummed up with dust.

The thing looks spotless inside. It's seen very little use and the airflow was fine, just not cold. IMO, the hot air was the room air was 30* (or 86 for those of you stuck in the stone age :p ) combined with a compressor that was getting toasty. They let the thing run all night...
