I have this Proto 4757 ratchet, bought NOS. The VERY first time I used it I broke the pin at the hinge. I've sent some emails to Proto, and have not got a reply.

The real trouble is, I can't get half the pin out to find a suitable replacement. It's anchored in the ratchet head, and floats in the handle. Anyone have any suggestions for how to get it out? I've hammered away on it pretty good, and so far have only succeeded in marring up the head and handle in the vise...

A Press would be much more effective, The Pin is probably splined in the Middle.

I have a similar 1/2" drive 5457A that the has a button to release the socket, and the socket retention parts fell out of it. Called Proto to try to get a kit, NA. Said to send it in, and they'd send me the current replacement. Really need to move that up the priority list, it was one of my favorite ratchets.
