Broken sill plate in garage.

Just discovered this today. Looks like a broken sill plate to me. The sill plate on the opposite side of the garage is all one long piece of wood. Should I get this looked at by a structural engineer?

it's a joint . nothing to be worried about

the other good news is the sill is the correct type wood and the sill seal is in place
