I'm in need of a tool to remove broken taps. I found some on mcmaster carr's website which look pretty cool. Looking around for other options, what are you guys using? I tried searching but didn't find anything.

I never understood how you know how many fingers you need. I'm referring to the Walton extractors. I haven't needed one, but I'm not sure which one I would order.

What about the nonfluted extractors? (always told the square ones worked better)
Bought one of these for a broken 3/8 tap in the head of my 350....the tap is below the surface and i tried my remover today between the rain and darkness and only managed to twist the fingers off.....i will cut off the fingers Sunday and re-attempt....
Any tips??
weld a bolt of smaller diameter to the remains... also works good on rounded bolts just find a nut to sit over the head and weld it up plus the heat makes it easier to extract
