Broken Welder HELP!!

My snapon mw120 is broken.

It was working fine, but then it just stopped working.
The fan turns on, it makes all of the usual noises, feeds, but there is no current.
When the trigger is held down for more than about 5 seconds, it trips the breaker in my garage.

I pulled it open and tested the capacitor and there is no current to the capacitor either.

Anybody have any ideas?

Call the tech support number. I think it is 800-abc-weld. It should be on the side of the machine. They have always been helpful when I've had a problem.

That board is likley your culprit. My co worker has that welder and had the same issue that you are having. The board was toast.

Check to see if there is some welding wire wrapped in the feeder or other short. Have you had a bird-nest recently? The entire wire including the spool is energized during welding. If any energized part grounds to the case it will not weld and depending on the machine, kick the breaker or just not start in the first place. Worth checking at least.
