Talked with Brother and does not want to do a thickened slab as in his mind, means weeks of digging into the hard clay, plus also means permanent. The latter can't understand, though can't convince otherwise, even suggesting CMU block on the slab (again permanent and too much time). My concern is with the high walls, a lot of load on a four inch slab, especially with the soft soil when wet (and doubt any gutters so be even more water incursion). Then had the thought to use railroad ties like the greenhouse. Doing a search on this forum and other sources, seems possible.
Is setting onto a compacted bed of road pack and staked with rebar a good method?
Can the ties be form-work (like rat boards in a post barn) or is that going to cause too much horizontal load and spread the foundation?
Don't think Brother ever bother, just an out building, however, curious if the walls could be jacked and shimmed knowing good chance of settling.
