Brown and Sharpe level

picked up a old and little bit crusty level , I thought it looked cool, I didn't even know it said Brown and Sharpe until I cleaned it off. It works and rotates, still needs more cleaning. Anybody have an idea of the age ?

I can't tell you the age, but it appears to be part of a 4 piece set. If you can see slots on it they are for an 18 inch steel rule that slides into it and then you can draw precise angles.

Not sure of the age, but I know a guy with the last name Sharpe from the Northeast, Might be one is his ancestors who had that patent.

It was made in Providence and they (Brown &Sharpe ) left there in 1964, So before 1965.
The font to me looks 1930's or 40's.
Earlier would be the same style but with upper and lower case letters and later would be all caps and plain block letter font.

I have one of those as well. Very nice tool. It accepts a precision rule for measuring and laying out angles.
