Brown & Sharpe Tool ID

Can anybody tell me what this old Brown & Sharpe tool is called and what it's for? The one knob will do a very fine adjustment, when it moves the block, which is spring loaded.

Not really a tool itself, more of a bracket or fixture. To see more examples, do a search for "dial indicator base." Older indicators typically had a lug on the back that the screw would go through.

It is part of an indicator base. It's the part that goes from the upright arm to the indicator. The fine adjustment allows you to zero the indicator
