Hi all, I've been looking into getting brushes for some 50s 60s handheld drills and sanders. With an 80s Milwaukee I ordered through a service center.

What do you guys do for replacing them on old or out of business companies? This can expand to repulsion induction motors too, those can be old. Post up any resources, companies, methods and prices you've dealt with on replacing brushes!

I ran into that a while back & I think that's that's how I ended up here. search ebay for close dimensions and file to fit. I was repairing a POC Made in Chinka tool that needed brushes

all dimensions are actually important. don't make them too loose or to tight. I got the radius close by using a dowel and emery paper attached to it and "filed" the radius into the brushes. it worked ok but it was a fairly time consuming job .

The Ace Hardware down the street from my house has a box of assorted motor brushes. You could try an Ace in your area and see if they have something that's close enough to work.

My Sears hardware store also carries motor brushes. Great hardware assortment as well.
