Looking for advise on what size heater for my pole barn. A few specs. Live in Michigan and plan to keep it at 40ish all time, then crank up when I need to work out there on weekends, etc.

Wall will be insulated with a R26 and ceiling R38 in the ceiling. Side wall finished with drywall, steel ceiling. 4 inches of concrete, 2 10x10 insulated garage doors.

Looking for a hanging LP heater to do the job. anyone recomend a size?

Thanks

my shop is 48'x45' with 14'.6" ceiling 2x6 std walls with 1x4 strapping for outside steel siding so almost 7" insulation in walls 7 " above ceiling mine inside is steel lined

new cement floor is over old cement floor so i have around 10-12" thick floors

have a 40' 2 stage Natural Gas 100,000-150,000 reverberay in center of shop so it runs intake from west wall and exhaust out east wall I love this heater
one ceiling fan running around the clock

Last years bills where average $48.00 a month that includes meter rent cheap cheap heat kept it at 55 degrees last year going for 60 this year which sometimes is too hot

only time second stage kicks on is if door is open for extended period or if i want it super heated in 10 minutes Like when winter depression sets in and you lay on the floor in your T-shirt and close your eyes and say awe what a beautiful day :bounce: I love this heater

did i mention I love this heater ?

the 100k sounds somewhat overkill to me for ya s_ontario but unlike an A/C it shouldn't really hurt you to be oversized.

For OP: I'm not sure what other options are out there for spaces like this but that doesn't sound like a bad one to me at all.

Just an opinion,

I believe the 100,000-150,000 was $89 dollars more than the 80,000-125,000

so dealer said install the larger since my doors are opened-closed frequently and i think the tube was heavier grade can't remember slept since then :bounce:
