Bubble Wrap As Insulation

I posted this on a pool forum but thought I would get some opinions here as well. I live in northern MN. We recently put up an Above Ground Pool. We are trying to find ways to keep the heat in at night. We have a solar cover and then 2" foam board on top of that. Someone suggested we need to insulate the side walls as well. I was thinking of using black bubble wrap (1/2") for two reasons.
1. To warm the sides of the pool during the day
2. The air bubbles would insulate the sides at night

Any thoughts or ideas??

It should keep it somewhat warmer, but the bubble wrap is likely not UV stable so it might only last a season.

As a guy that has lived with above ground pools for over 30 years I wouldn't bother.
Your heat loss isn't around the sides, it is the top surface of the pool.

There are ways around this.
(I have seen pools with ping pong balls covering the top as an insulating layer.)
But the best thing is to realize you have a seasonal toy and accept the fact that winter is coming.

for your trouble you would be better off building a solar heater as opposed to trying to retain heat overnight.

bonus is it would mean earlier & later seasonal use.
