I bought a house with a 16x48 horse barn that I will be converting to a workshop. I like you plan.

Looks and sounds like a nice set up, put 1/2 bath under staircase if possible.

Thanks, I am torn with plumbing. not sure. I was going to put radiant heat plumbing under stairs. The only reason i would think I need it is for sink and parts washer.

Getting there. Blocks up front represent garage door width of 14ft. Structure is 18 wide.

Hey Buck. I would like to suggest that the window into your wood shop be replaced with french doors. I had a similar sized wood working area, and had to move my table saw in front of the door to rip long pieces, and breaking down sheet goods had to be done outside. Just a suggestion, but a wide door sure comes in handy when moving machines, sheet goods and projects in and out of the shop.

I agree with this. Makes sense.

I agree with both of you and I took it one step further. Back room on first floor is now office and whole main floor is woodworking. All tools on wheels. Got a new job which may work remotely if office space exists, so had to be done.

Foam insulation is done, double vapor barrier, and tubes. Had to make a pvc sweep manifold but all good, 50 psi still, 3 hrs later.

Foundation is poured now. Held pressure perfectly. Visited garage today to see progress.
