Budget Barn

I designed and built this 20 x 24 barn all last summer. I built it on a tight budget. The floor hasn't been poured yet and there's no electrical either. I have an antique tractor and zero turn mower that finds this home. This is a pole barn with rafters and a galvanized metal roof. I could have built a garage style building but I'm in a rural area and I wanted something different than all the other garages and pole barns in my area. I have always liked the look of the older barns too. Should have the electrical done by mid summer.

Very nice barn! I am hoping to start our horse barn this summer and have plans to have it look real close to yours. Where did you get your sliding door track and hardware? Also what pitch roof do you have? 6/12?

Tight budget right now means I've spent about $4500.00 to date. I plan on putting a concrete floor in next year and electric and a cupola this year. That should push the final closer to $7500.00.

It's an 8/12 pitch, and I got the track hardware from a seller on ebay. The galvanized track cover was special order from Menards. The only one they had in stock was white. I like the galvanized accents, since the roof is also a special order galvalume.

I just saw that type of barn door hardware at a small local lumber company just last week. I'll bet Tractor Supply carries hardware like this also if you have one in your area.

:bounce::bounce::bounce::thumbup::thumbup Great job!! Do you plan on heating & insulation?

Yes this will be heated and insulated. I haven't decided how I want to finish the walls yet though...Maybe halfway up with metal pole barn interior siding then peg board???

Looking good! Now you need to extend the roof to cover the camper.

I have my concrete quote and gave the contractor the go ahead! He should start on pouring my new barn floor in 10 days! I'm also having him pour a 4 ft deep pad up front and a 6' x 24' pad on the side of the barn. I'll post pics when it's started.

That is a handsome building. I like the sliding door. I don't know how I missed this thread in April.
