Hi All,

Many of you are aware that we made paint for Budget Bob (aka Smitty, aka Bob Smith) out of Elmira, PA. I am sorry to report that Budget Bob passed away this past Friday night on January 4th 2008. There is no information available publically at this time. If you are in need to contact his next of kin, we can provide contact information if you will call us. We are also going to try to help those people who may have had orders in process.

We are all deeply sadened and extend our condolences to his family. Bob was a unique individual who lived by his own rules. There will be no announcements, wake, or even a funeral. There will be a 'going away' party for him at the Homestead Tavern in Elmira, PA.

We will post more information at the following link when it becomes available.

Sad to hear that. He sent me a email a few months back saying that he was 65 and strong as a horse. I am saddened that's for sure. Prayers for his family and loved ones.

Erik,

bob sent an email to you & your president on my behalf & he (pres)responded on christmas day with the following.

"First, there are never guarantees in this situation. No other company would even think about touching this.

BondTite is not sensitive to moisture when it is applied and the adhesion is tenacious. We've never ever seen a failure even when going up against odds like this.

1) The BondTite 1101 MUST be applied in the evening when there has been a warm day. The idea is that you want to coat the concrete when it is fully expanded. (Concrete expands during the day as it gets warm and contracts at night when it cools.)

2) The concrete must be prepped according to published good painting practices... shot blasing or acid etching... good neutralization of the acid... thourough rinsing... etc...

3) Do 2 coats of primer (5 mils each)... ROLLED... NOT sprayed... concrete can be damp... NOT WET... damp ok...Some people go over the floor with one of these if it is wet: >http://removed link >If it were me,... minute research. Where can i get this now?

Well I don't know about your supply but I have email from Bob Stating that he has ordered from you and stated you are out of stock. He also stated in these emails that he may check another supplier. I am just stating what he was corresponding to me for not shipping my order!

Eric, My order was 2 - 3 gallon kits of red and 2-3 gallon kits of clear. the color of the chip order was 4 pounds of light green, 4 pounds of white and 2 pounds of grey. thank you for asking. I do not feel that you are obligated to complete this transaction between myself and and Bob. I my be jumping to conclusions on my part. I should respect the family time and not start something that is not needed. I want apologize to the family and board for my earlier posts. These things take time to work out. I think that this will be resolved in the time needed/ Once again I was out of line. And I am sorry I posted what I did at such grieving time for the the family.

Locoman - it's your money and you need to do what you feel is best, but here's what I know about credit card disputes. In a case where you never received the item paid for you have to notify the credit card company within 60 days of the date the bill (statement) with the initial charge listed was mailed. Not the day the statement closed, or was printed, or was received, but was mailed.

Although some cc companies will take a phoned in dispute, I would mail in the complaint certified mail. You can use the form on the backside of your statement.

Not receiving an item is a pretty clear cut dispute, you should have no problem with this, unless the merchant claims the items was sent.

If there isn't a pressing time issue, one might consider trying to contact the family to straighten this out. A canceled charge is less onerous than a charge back for the merchant's account. But with $1,000+/- in play, your call. Just realize you may have the option to clear things without 3rd party intervention.

BTW This is all regulated by the Federal Fair Credit Billing laws, more details here.

I don't think you were out of line. His daughter wants to continue Bob's business. I think that she will get things squared away for you. Bill is going to try to contact you on Monday to sqaure up your order. We need to know things like... Did you order Bright Red or Tile Red? Then, we have several 'gray', 'green', and 'white' shades... we'll get a color chart for the flakes over to you to make sure we get the order right. Last, we'll get with Tammy (Bob's Daughter) to make sure he didn't already order product from someone else for you. I've got a pretty high degree of confidence in the honesty of Bob's daughter.

If any of you are following this thread, I'd suggest you read locoman's post regarding wolverine's service in General Discussion. It's nice to see something resolved so well.

Wow is right! My last post with Bob was on the 4th. His last day with us:sad: he was always quick to reply. That was why I was concerned about my order. I do wish the best to his daughter in continuing his business. I hope the board members will support her if she chooses to do so.
