Hi all,
First timer here, and I would like your opinions on my plan to epoxy (w/ full flake) my 500 sqft garage. The garage was built in the 60's and I am new to the property, therefore have not seen it through the seasons. Moderate climate located in California, SF bay area. I intend on going a more budget-friendly route, while hopefully not sacrificing too much quality.
First things first, the epoxy I want to use is a 100% solids, cycloaliphatic coating. I want to use this for both the base coat and top coat. Is it a mistake to not use a moisture barrier? Will the lack of UV resistance be made up for by a full flake broadcast?

Items List:
- 3 gal light gray tint epoxy for first coat (Amazon Link) (Technical Data Sheet)
- 3 gal clear coat for 2nd coat (same product but w/o tint)
- 25 lb flake
- 102 oz of crack filler (Amazon Link)
My plan is to:
- Grind and clean floor, then apply crack filler.
- Apply first coat of light gray tinted, self-leveling epoxy using squeegee and roller
- Can I use normal squeegee? or do I have to use a combed squeegee since its self-leveling?
- Should the roller be spiked for bubbles?
- Apply full flake
- Is this even feasible with just 25 lbs of flake? In an ideal world with no wasted flakes, how many lbs of flake for full broadcast of 500 sqft?
- Scrape and vacuum excess flakes
- Apply second coat of epoxy
