I know the general consensus on this topic is to buy from Harbor Freight. Ive got a few Harbor Freight wrenches and they work great. But the finish isn't that great and I'm not in love with the raised panel design.

Noticed Tractor Supply had some full polish jumbo wrench sets under the Job Smart brand. They look pretty nice. The set I'm looking at is #206-6JCWS. Its a 5 piece SAE set from 1-5/16" thru 2". Priced at $49.99.

Anyone buy this set of wrenches? My use will be to keep on the truck to make field adjustments on farm equipment.

i saw them. they looked okay.

if you wish to move to a "little" better stuff, northern tool has a pretty good 6 pc set that runs from 1 3/8 to 2 inch. satin finish and 69.99. they also have a wide range of sizes that match them if needed.

For budget big wrenches, I'd recommend Northern. Your typical import big wrench set skips a few sizes that I tend to need. Nice thing with Northern is they stock all the sizes individually so you can fill in any sizes you need. With big wrenches, there is a noticeable difference between import and USA made ones. For a given size, the USA is massive compared to the import. Maybe good, maybe bad depending on what you are doing. The Northern wrenches I have seem to split the difference making them the beefiest import big wrenches I have seen. Also the super cheap big wrenches I have are pretty sloppy, they work, but I can often wedge them on a nut 1/16" larger. The Northern are a much nicer fit.

what i said only he did it much better!

the ones at tsc also looked oddly short for the sizes offered. for 20 bucks more you get an extra wrench and longer wrenches over all. the flip side is that you can wander in your local tsc and have them in your hand today. i have no idea what your access to a northern tool is and shipping could be a deal breaker.

I don't have my set of Northern wrenches handy. A little comparison of a 2" SK to a 2" no name. The Northern should fall right between the two.

TSC wrenches are probably ok. I prefer to buy channel lock brand from my local do it best. Do it best is across the street from tsc in my town. Do it best seems to have a better bolt selection. Plus the employees are a bit more knowledgeable.

I have Northern wrenches as mentioned above, their decent wrenches for the money. The Williams superrench's I have are nicer by far, but both would get the job done for me (truck & hydraulics).

Menards has or had Crescent brand full polish wrenches that looked like they'd be decent for a fair price.

I just got my northern set yesterday and I am happy with them. They were (are?) on sale for $65 and free ship.

Not "jumbo" JobSmart wrenches but I bought a few of the smaller ones clearanced out a few years ago. They were ok.

Check out the BF deals before you go buy a set somewhere.

I have a set of big Sunex offset wrenches that are great. I used them to change a transmission filter base on one of our tractors.
