Buffalo all in one cylinder hone

Anybody ever heard of a "Buffalo all in one hone"? I have had one that has been in the family for years and years, I have used it 20 plus years and my dad got it used from his uncle, I would guess in the 60's. Well, today I was honeng a engine and dropped it and broke 2 of the 3 arms that hold the stones. I know I can replace it with a new hone but I would really like to fix it again and still be able to use it, call me sentimental. Any one have a Idea where I might be able to get parts for it? I was looking at it and I think I can braze the broke (cast iron) pieces back together but I'm not sure the would still be true with the heat of brazing, so if I can replace them I would be a happy camper again. Like I say I know the smart thing is to replace it with a new one but I just like this one, I'm used to, it (did) works good, and like it. Thanks.

Did it come in a wood chest? I seem to think I saw one at the tractor and steam show last year. Not that it would help in this case.

If it did it was lost long ago. It has always just been in the drawer of a tool box around here.

Is yours made in Buffalo or that's just the brand?

I seem to recall seeing a large hone set with multiple attachments made in Buffalo. Had a wood case with a latch. I took a look but the price was awful high IIRC. Might have been one, very old looking set.

Could have been some obscure brand though, I'm not sure.

Buffalo is the brand. I remember Buffalo tools being cheap junk, but this thing was a quality tool. Must have been made before thier stuff was made in China.

I don't think JB would work. There is a fair amount of spring loaded pressure on the arms that hold the stones. I trust JB but I think this might be beyond it's capabilities.

if the jb lets loose there goes ur bore. get a good used ammco 500 precision hone off ebay. its old school.

I have that exact same hone with 1 broken arm. It too has been in the family for a long time. It was brazed or silver soldered sometime in the 60's and has worked fine over the years.
I'm writing to ask if you have found some place to buy replacement stones for this. My two sets are really worn. I haven't used it personally in over 25 years but apparently my late dad had used it quite a bit while I was gone.
