right...i have seen those too - but this purports to be some decades old, US made, 110 or 220 - on the Practical Machinist website i see reference to a an old preWW2 company called buffalo that made drill presses and the numbering scheme is similar (example, 10-2 for a press) - but no reports back from them either on this grinder....hmmm

Pass. Simply because there isn't enough info out there and what if you need parts or service? You can buy too many other grinders for $50. Especially now that we have entered "yard sale season."

If it is from the old Buffalo forge (Buffalo NY) then it should be good stuff. I had one of there drill presses for several years. Good heavy duty stuff.

Elroy's opinion is import. Could be wrong because the tool rest is cast iron. But the large diameter motor and sheet metal guards spell import. A Buffalo Forge grinder would be 50 years old MINIMUM. Your opinion is as good as Elroy's. If you like it buy it.

I don’t believe that it is old American made Iron. As it has stamped steel wheel guards rather than being castings. And most likely an import. I wouldn’t purchase it without seeing it first hand. If it runs smoothly and doesn’t stall when you grind a piece of steel, I’d consider purchasing it. However I’d offer $30.00 though.

Lord I hope you didn't buy it cause if you did you got royally hosed! Elroy and OCG are dead on with their thoughts. I have passed a boatload of those grinders in use in businesses and industries I have visited in recent years and also seen them close up and new. It was likely bought new since around 1980 and many other manufacturers have sold jillions of other brands that were simply labeled differently. If you had the opportunity to see it close up you would know in an instant this is not an old quality grinder.
