All I remember about Buffalo branded tools was that they were available cheap just about everywhere in the 80's. The other cheap import brand back then was Cal-Hawk.

Cheap "house brand" from the 70's and 80's.
Buffalo had their name on everything from electric drills to bench grinders and whole array of hand tools... all Japan or Tiwan made junk.

That's different than the ones that I remember. The ones that I was thinking of were chromed.

Still around, see them almost exclusively in pawn shops and at the jockey lot. HF looks to be a step up.
I have a Buffalo band saw. Cheap import from back then, but damn if it hasn't given good service. It's about shot at this point, but for a cheap ************* to last as long as it has is pretty good. Don't recall seeing much of their hand tools.

My Memory is slipping a little as I seem to recall a top of line machines in the drill press range of Buffalo Forge that were indeed high quality not to be confused with the total **** coming from the dime stores of the 70 and 80's.
Oh and by the way they were made out of chewing gum, pot metal, floor sweepings,and whatever they could find that day; worst **** in the market back in the day.

There used to be a brand called "Barcalo Buffalo", I have a set of combination wrenches from the 60's.
