Buffing a Wolverine clear top coat

I have a LOT of air bubbles in my Wolverine clear top coat.

Don't really care how it occurred or why, I just have to fix the floor.

I plan to skim sand the clear top coat with a floor sander (12" x 18" rectangular pad with a 60 grit screen) as past experience shows this combination leaves a smooth, but a no gloss, matte finish.

Can anyone suggest a floor buffer and buffing compound combination that will restore some gloss to the floor?

I don't need a high gloss, mirror finish and I don't care to spend $500 for an additional 6 gallons of the clear top coat.

Would a 3M or Meguiars automotive finish buffing compound work?

Not much in the way of auto paint polish will work on 60 grit sanding marks. The only one that MIGHT get close would be Meguiars #105 but you really need to get a finer finish before using that polish.

A bit more info on the sander...

It is like a random orbit sander, not a drum sander.

It leaves a fine, smooth finish with a sanding screen, not deep scratches as you would expect with 60 grit paper on a drum, etc.

As above, the resulting finish does not have scratches, just a matte, no gloss look to it.

Man, I don't know if that will work. Did you call Wolverine for a solution?
Clears are tough to fix without cutting (grinding off) and starting new.
