Watching the building of the $1.7 million Bugatti Veyron on National Geographic Channel, it was interesting to see that the workers were using Stahlwille ratchets and Wera screwdrivers.

There you have it ! The best tools of the world for the best car of the world !
:D ;)

i guess the reason is that the distributor where they buy the tools is a company called "Hoffmann-Group" (see ad below) who is a distributor for Stahlwille, Wera, Knipex, PB Swiss........

DId you see this on Top Gear? Buggati vs Mclaren F1. It was 'close' only due to driver skill in the F1

it was an interesting show, the time they say it takes to build the numerous peices for the car was amazing.
here is a video from youtube of one crashing, when this happened there seemed to be reports of the owner in $$ trouble and this was a possible insurance job, just dont think he thought it would of been caught on camera.

I wish Chevy would give you a nice set of token tools with your car purchase, but I guess that would give the impression that you might be needing to use those tools regularly....

I watched that last night too. That facility was incredible and the steps they take as they assemble and prepare it was amazing. If I heard it right, they only have 17 guys that do assembly, but it takes a couple of weeks.

and here I thought I was the only one watching the history channel and Nat Geo and the like's car shows looking at what tools they were using over what was being built/fixed

I was fascinated by the 16 cylinder titanium engine and the amazing transmission

haha what? :wtf: that guy has more driving skill in his pinky than most people

sweet cars, the tools arnt too shabby either.

Thats the point. The Stig is the better driver in the 'slower' car...thats why it was 'close'..get it? Hammond can drive but not like The Stig/Michael Schumacher

I bet 95% of people here do exactly that when we watch those kind of shows.

Michael Schumacher isn't normally the Stig. He was only the Stig when they had the Ferrari FXX on the test track.

Wrong, michael shumacher has been the white suited stig the entire time. It was announced in papers and on the show.

Well, I can't be completely wrong since the white Stig was introduced in 2003, and Schumacher didn't retire until 2006. So, there had has to be at least two Stigs.

Also, according to this article in which they quote a Top Gear official as saying it was a publicity stunt. Schumacher as the Stig that is. Also, he says there's up to six separate drivers that portray the Stig.

Yeah, I have to admit, when I saw the show when the 'revealed' The Stig as MS, I thought...'That's a different person'....The MS Stig was too short. Top Gear rocks so I don't give a **** who 'The Stig(s)' are....Just keep making the show!

WRONG...
MS was only the "Stig" for that show due to the FXX. Nobody besides Schumi is allowed behind the wheel of that particular car.

As to the actual white stig.. I think its Ben Collins. Theres too much circumstantial evidence to deny it.

My favorite Clarkson moment was when he tested the mercedes and said the "Sat Nav keeps wanting to go to poland"///// Now that was funny:lol_hitti
