Major surgery in two weeks has me sorting my tools so my wife can better handle things should something go wrong. I have found many items that I have never used such as speeders, things I used only once like mcpherson strut compressors and outdated tools like a dwell meter, timing light and spark plug cleaners. There are many other such things in my shed. It has made me curious if others have trouble getting rid of things even though they never use them and what they might be.

a few "obsolete to me" tools a couple of years ago, and I regret selling most of them. They took up little space and I can't replace them for what I sold them for.

STADGER - I sincerely hope that your surgery goes well and that your preparations are all for naught.

I have a few of tools that might fall into that category. I'm here on GJ, meaning that I'm obligated to keep them for posterity.

Not a tool, but I still have the skateboard I made in 9th grade wood shop. I'm 55yrs old now and would die if I tried to stand on it. I just can't get myself to throw it in the trash.

My wifes biggest worry isn't about what to do with my tools, as she has 3 sons who will divvy them up.

She's more worried about what to do with the body.

I suggested we prepare for that eventuality.

So she said I better get to digging a hole in the back yard right away!
